Contact MeAbout
I'm a Psychotherapist based in Hobart, Tasmania, holding a Master of Social Work and four years of experience supporting people through crisis, trauma, and complex life transitions. My background spans acute mental health crisis support, hospital-based aged care, disability advocacy, and peer-led recovery work, all grounded in a relational, non-pathologising approach.
I work somatically as well as verbally, integrating Hakomi Body-Centered Psychotherapy, which I have completed Level 1 in and continue to train in, alongside trauma-informed and person-centred practice. I bring a CALD background and genuine cultural curiosity to my work, and I build rapport quickly with people from all walks of life.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, grief, a life transition, trauma, or simply need a steady, non-judgemental place to be heard, I'm here to work alongside you, at your pace and on your terms.
Approach
My practice is relational, trauma-informed, and non-pathologising. I meet people as whole individuals, not diagnoses.
Somatic just means the body. Most talking therapy works with the story you tell about your life. Somatic work also pays attention to what your body is doing while you tell it. Where you tense up. Where your breath stops. What happens when you get close to the difficult part.
That matters because a lot of what runs your life was learned before you had words for it. It does not shift just because you understand it. Your nervous system worked out how to protect you a long time ago and it is still doing that job, whether or not it still needs to.
Hakomi is one way of working with that. It uses mindfulness inside the session itself, so instead of only talking about an experience you notice it happening while it happens. Nothing is forced and nothing is pushed. We move at the pace your system allows.
I have completed Level 1 of Hakomi Body-Centered Psychotherapy and I am continuing that training, alongside mindfulness and somatic experiencing.

Payment is due on the day.
If you need to cancel, let me know at least 24 hours before and there is no charge. Less than that and the full fee applies, because the time is held for you.
There is no Medicare rebate on my sessions at this stage. I would rather say that here than have you find out after you have booked.
If cost is the thing stopping you, say so in your message and we will talk about it.
FAQ
You talk, I listen, and I ask about what sits underneath the thing you came in with. There is no script and no worksheet. The first session is mostly me getting a picture of what is going on and why now. You do not have to arrive organised about it.
No. Most people I see have neither. Feeling stuck, flat, anxious, or like something is off is enough of a reason.
I don't know, and anyone who gives you a number before meeting you is guessing. Some people come for a few weeks. Some stay much longer. We talk about it as we go. I don't sell packages.
Two things.
I do not treat you as a problem to be solved. Most people arrive already knowing the explanation for why they are the way they are, and knowing it has not changed anything. What is usually missing is somewhere to be honest without managing the other person's reaction.
The second thing is that I pay attention to what is happening in your body while you talk, not only the story you are telling. That comes from Hakomi, which is a body-centred way of working, and from somatic experiencing.
Yes. Send a message and say you would like a quick call first. Fifteen minutes, no charge, no pressure to book afterwards.
For most of what I do, yes. You need a private space and a connection that holds. If you are in crisis, or you need in-person care, I will tell you that and help you find it rather than take your money.
Say so. It is not an insult. I would rather you find the right person than keep coming out of politeness, and I can point you toward others.
Yes, with the limits every therapist has. If there is a serious risk to your safety or someone else's, or a court requires it, I have to act. I will tell you before I do anything, unless there is no time.
Adults. People feeling lost, stuck, anxious, flat, or carrying something they cannot put down. I have worked with people from a lot of different backgrounds. If English is not your first language, I also speak Punjabi.
